A little playbook · big ideas

From "I Have An Idea…" To "It's Live." 🎉

Every great product starts as a napkin sketch and a nervous "…could this actually work?" This is your five-move cheat sheet to find out, with zero jargon and a 30-second quiz at the end.

Let's Play

Building software feels mysterious from the outside, like there's a secret handshake. There isn't. There's just five moves, in order. Here they are. 👇

01

Name the villain 🦹

Every product exists to defeat a specific annoyance. Not "we need an app", but "customers wait 20 minutes on hold" or "we lose orders in a spreadsheet." Write your villain in one sentence. If you can't, that's your first clue.

Playbook tip: If your villain is "everything is a bit annoying," you have five small products, not one. Pick the loudest villain first.
02

Find the one hero moment ⭐

What's the single moment where your product makes someone go "oh, nice"? For a taxi app it's watching the car glide toward you on the map. Nail that one moment and the rest of the product has permission to be simple.

Playbook tip: More features rarely means more magic. One unforgettable moment beats ten forgettable ones.
03

Draw it badly, on purpose ✏️

Sketch the screens on paper, ugly is perfect. Ugly sketches get honest feedback because nobody's precious about them. Show three people. Watch where they get confused. That confusion is free gold.

Playbook tip: The goal isn't a pretty picture. It's discovering the argument you were about to have in month three, in an afternoon instead.
04

Ship the smallest brave version 🚢

Cut your idea in half. Now cut it again. What's left that still defeats the villain? That's your first release. Real users teach you more in a week than a year of planning ever will.

Playbook tip: "But it needs everything to launch" is the most expensive sentence in tech. It almost never does.
05

Listen, tweak, repeat 🔁

Launch isn't the finish line, it's the starting gun. Watch what people actually do (not what they say), fix the friction, add the thing everyone begs for. Great products are grown, not born.

Playbook tip: The best feature idea is usually hiding in your support inbox. Read it every week.

🎯 The 30-Second Quiz

Answer one question and we'll tell you what to build first. No email required, promise.

I need people to find and trust us online
B
My customers are on their phones, on the move
C
I want to sell products (or let others sell)
D
I'm drowning in repetitive work or data
E
Honestly? I just have a spark and a hunch

That's the whole secret. 🤫

Five moves, one villain, one hero moment. When you're ready to make yours real, we're the team that turns napkin sketches into launched products.
