Job Brief:
Tanco Tech Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Director to oversee all aspects of our Information Technology (IT) functions. As the IT Director, you will be responsible for managing a team of IT managers, coordinating with various departments to assess and implement technology solutions, and ensuring the smooth operation of our company’s technology infrastructure.
In this role, you will lead the implementation of new IT systems and policies, ensuring that all technological operations are aligned with the company’s strategic goals. You will also monitor and optimize the use of technology, making decisions about upgrades and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both IT and business needs, with a proven track record in managing IT operations, developing policies, and leading technology teams to achieve business goals. As a leader, you should be capable of motivating a diverse team and providing guidance across various IT functions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all technology operations, including network security, software management, and IT systems, ensuring they meet the company’s strategic goals and operational needs.
- Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies, ensuring that all strategies align with upper management’s objectives and operational requirements.
- Analyze the technological needs of all departments and recommend solutions to meet business requirements effectively.
- Research, evaluate, and purchase cost-effective technological equipment, software, and infrastructure that aligns with the company’s objectives and budget.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the technology systems, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and compliance with internal and external standards.
- Identify areas for improvement within the IT infrastructure, including upgrades, configuration changes, or the integration of new systems.
- Supervise and guide IT managers and professionals, providing leadership in managing the daily operations and long-term projects of the IT team.
- Control the IT budget, providing detailed reports on expenditure and ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.
- Collaborate with external vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring cost-effective agreements are in place to meet the company’s technology needs.
- Ensure that all IT systems and employees are functioning within the agreed timeframes, budgets, and specifications, and that any deviations are addressed promptly.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as an IT Director, IT Manager, or in a similar leadership role within the technology sector.
- Proven experience in analyzing, implementing, and evaluating IT systems and their specifications, ensuring they align with company objectives.
- Strong understanding of computer systems (both hardware and software), networks, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Experience in controlling IT budgets, with the ability to optimize technology expenditure and drive cost-effective strategies.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of IT professionals.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven ability to collaborate across departments and provide clear guidance to team members.
- Ability to identify emerging trends and technologies and incorporate them into the company’s IT strategy.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MSc/MA is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
